Hi, I’m Denise Washington, I am so excited to be using the power of poetry to positively bring people together!  I am the Founder, CEO and Curator of #Pop-Up Poetry Series, A Denise Plays Hard  Event.  

    For 5 years, poetry has been popping up around the City of Boston, beyond, on-line, virtually, and currently globally, (sailing up the Hapi River in Kemet & most recently in Kingston, Jamaica!) healing and empowering communities one poem at a time!  My poem, “ A Quilt of Greatness” has been selected to have a screening in The 2022 Roxbury International Film Festival!

     This Series is a global movement that creates a safe and non-judgmental space for all people, 

intergenerational (ages 1 to 101 have attended throughout the years) to breathe, listen, recite and enjoy!  

   Did you know there are some health benefits to listening and writing poetry?  It improves cognitive mood, well being and stress, just to name a few.  It’s true, I’ve done the research that proves!
